With just six ingredients including salt and pepper, it's as easy as shaking a jar to make your own delicious balsamic vinaigrette at home.
Ingredients
4tablespoonsextra virgin olive oil
2tablespoonsbalsamic vinegar
1tablespoonhoney
2teaspoonsDijon mustard
¼teaspoonfine sea saltto taste
¼teaspoonfreshly ground black pepperto taste
Instructions
Add the oil, vinegar, honey, mustard, salt, and pepper to a bowl or a jar with a tight-fitting lid.
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon honey, 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard, ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt, ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Whisk or shake very well to combine until emulsified. The vinaigrette should be thickened and even in colour when mixed.
Use immediately or store until needed. Refrigerate in a sealed container for up to a week.
Notes
This makes around ⅓ cup of vinaigrette, or just about 100 ml. It's just right for a standard head of lettuce. If you're using creamed honey, be sure to mix very well and check that there isn't honey that hasn't been incorporated.Storage: refrigerate (covered) for up to a week. The vinaigrette might solidify when chilled. Take it out an hour before you plan on serving to bring it back to room temperature and shake or whisk again before use.
